My current role is Honorary Consultant Respiratory Physician in the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. I completed my training in Respiratory Medicine in Sotiria General Hospital in Athens Greece in 2013. During my training (2009-2011) I did my MSc on “Thoracic oncology: Recent clinical and laboratory approach and research” at the University of Athens. I have a widespread interest in all aspects of respiratory medicine, with a particular interest in the interstitial lung disease and sarcoidosis. This is the reason why I moved to London in 2013 and started my sub-speciality in the interstitial lung disease and sarcoidosis in the Royal Brompton Hospital as a research fellow to Professor Wells. I have organized and expanded the cardiac sarcoidosis service in collaboration with the Heart Failure team of the hospital. In the meantime, I completed my PhD on cardiac sarcoidosis in the University of Athens, which was granted with an HTS award in 2011. I am an author and co-author of 30 scientific publications in international journals and books and invited lecturer worldwide. I am also an active member of the European Respiratory, the American and Hellenic Thoracic Societies, with annual presentations in the congresses. Apart from my clinical role as an Honorary Consultant, I am currently participating in a number of research registries and clinical trials in sarcoidosis.
