Claire Walker

Claire Walker is an ILD Specialist Physiotherapist working within the University Hospitals Birmingham ILD Service based at Birmingham Chest Clinic. She also leads the Respiratory Physiotherapy Outpatient and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services at University Hospitals Birmingham. She has worked for the NHS for 14 years, has a PG Cert in Respiratory Medicine and now specialises in Respiratory with a keen passion for ILD.

Her current role includes physiotherapy provision in ILD MDT Clinic, Community ILD MDT and ILD Rapid Access Clinic the focus of which is admission avoidance and facilitation of hospital discharge for patients with ILD.

She is a certified Bradcliff practitioner and has an interest in breathing pattern disorders, cough and breathlessness management and exercise prescription. She is passionate about collaborative working and an advocate for an MDT approach and the beneficial impact it can have on patient care, outcomes and professional development.
