Nicola Cassidy graduated from University College Dublin with an honours degree in Biochemistry and subsequently obtained a Masters degree in Medical Science from the University of Birmingham. She has worked as a research scientist in the United Kingdom and Ireland and is employed as a medical information scientist in a Dublin teaching hospital. Nicola’s mother, Denise, was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2003 and she became her carer in 2006. Nicola has been a volunteer with the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association since 2007 and became a Director of the charity in 2016. Nicola has a special interest in health literacy and making information accessible to patients.
